Additional money to increase our marketing would likewise be a great investment IMO.
Only if that money is spent wisely. My point is that some things are self-marketable, such as the Rose Bowl. TCU vs. Wyoming isn't, and so I think it's more newsworthy that TCU has increased their attendance for regular games like that. Anyone can sell out the Rose Bowl. It's the Rose Bowl.

CS, my marketing statement had nothing to do with the Rose Bowl, had everything to do with the 17,500 at Ford to see Marshall. To me, there is nothing more important for SMU FB right now than attendance. We are in good hands finally with the product on the field.

Boomer-Sooner vs. Washington State in 2003 had only 86,848!

Some total incompetence if one of those schools didn't sell their allotments.

I think you mean their athletic team is something we strive for. That is true as far as football is concerned.
As far as the school goes - we are waaaay closer to equality with their football team then their shcool is to our school academically. It is not even close really.

And we sell 4,500 tickets to a bowl game being hosted at our own stadium, when it's the first time in 25 years that 99% of our fans and alumni can see a bowl game in person and we've sold...4,000...4,500 tickets to a game in a stadium within 25 miles of what, more than 25,000 alumni alone? Screams hot commodity for conference realignment.

Chill - we have been selling tickets for 5 days. We have 90k TOTAL living alums. 40k of them live within 25 miles and ten percent of them bought tickets within 4 days of them being available, not including the several thousand that bought their own season tickets.
We will end up with a sell out and be fine. Instead of bellyaching why dont you either buy some tickets or talk it up to some friends.

My brother goes to TCU, and bought 3 tickets but is selling 2 on Ebay. Most of his friends are doing the same thing.
