Samurai- Travel is mitigated if Hawaii is a football only member. Teams can travel once every 2 years and recoup some of the cost on the benefit that teams that go there get an extra game on their schedule.

That is only true if your home games produce revenue.

Valid point however home games or a bcs sacrifice payday both help costs. Certainly the combined impact of this and Hawaii in their tv deal tilted the balance far enough to make it happen.

I would assume that the MWC is staying at 10 in preparation for going to 12 when CUSA is destroyed by the Big East. Until such a raid is made upon CUSA, it would be a poor financial decision for any team to leave CUSA for the MWC.

Given that expansion to 12 has not you occurred for the MWC, one can assume that the MWC is hopeful that both SMU and Houston will be available.

The only leagues I see making any moves now are

Big 12 - if they can find a $$$$ partner for BYU
Big East - Most likely mover
WAC - Survival

ESPN insider is reporting that IF the MWC were to expand, it would look to Texas and add Houston, SMU, and UTEP in that order.
