Good Job, Thad!!!Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower Good Job, Thad!!!Just finished watching, "Pony Excess". I thought it was very good. Alot of mixed emotions come back when watching that documentary. I believe it is important to learn where you come from, but for me I'm looking forward. SMU was guilty, but we were screwed by the NCAA. The NCAA is truely a bunch of hypocrites. Now it's time to move on and look forward to a bright future. SMU is on the right path.
Beat Army!!!!!! GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Good Job, Thad!!!Congrats, indeed.
BEAT ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Good Job, Thad!!!All I can say is "Thank you" for telling this story. I had forgotten so much about what happened during that time.

Re: Good Job, Thad!!!Well done, even my old barber was on the doc...this is part of our collective DNA, this new chapter with Coach Jones is exciting, uplifting..makes me proud. Let's never forget this period, learn from it, but, time to move on, even though this will ALWAYS be part of our story. BEAT Army! BTW, I appreciate #19 even more now...way to go, Eric...[deleted] Texas!!
Re: Good Job, Thad!!!I watched at Lakewood for the premiere, and just now again, awesome job Thad!!!
Re: Good Job, Thad!!!That was well done. Great stuff. Really made me proud to be a mustang despite what happened and I loved the clips during the credits of other programs who have committed violations just as bad as us and they didn't get the DP.
I'm glad the story has been told for all to see/know and now that JJ is our coach we're building to a future where we may not compete for national titles, but will be a consistent power in whichever conference we play in. Pony up.
Re: Good Job, Thad!!!Great job Thad. Of course, if I had been director I would have added about 1-2 minutes on the reason SMU couldn't compete for those players after 1989 but I know the focus was on 1976-2007. I think it expressed both sides of the coin. What are the lessons to be learned is left to the viewer. I hoped SMU learned the right lessons

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Good Job, Thad!!!Thad - That was remarkable! As a fan/alumni/SMU Donor it is difficult to look at our past and our transgressions objectively. You showed that it could be done and done fairly - without sour grapes. Even though we really don't like to speak of it, it is part of our history. Now that it has been brought to light in one piece, rather the piece meal, we can fully return it to the past and move forward to the future. It was a great piece. I hope you receive the accolades you deserve for putting this together. Well Done!

Re: Good Job, Thad!!!Watching it was a great experience. When it was talking about how awful the the team was gf turned to me and asked, "Wait, are you getting misty-eyed?"
"You weren't there, it was so hard when your football teams means so much to you." "Boy, I really miss Craig James' commentary on Thursday night football"
