That single play painted the clearest picture of Teaff and how he should be remembered. Dude is a complete fraud. I wish the cops had let Coach Gregg get to him at midfield. Coach Gregg looked like he wanted to beat the fool out of that man (which would be hard to do). I thought he was more mad after that than he was after the Notre Dame and Houston games.
I have despised Baylor ever since.

you are a tardy soul if you have only despised Baylor since that play...some of us have had that as a mission since the '60s...

Did anybody notice the line:

"There were schools paying hundreds of thousands of dollars under the table who still couldn't win 3 games. You want to talk about a loser!" While a clip of TCU played?

GREATNESS.

‎30 for 30 Pony Excess: No wonder Tech was bad in the 80's. They were not cheating llike everybody else in the Southwest Conference. The ole Ags were just as dirty as the Mustangs.

I bet that was one of the most viewed 30 for 30 films. It was great. I especially liked the ending highlighting the rebirth of SMU football and the ending credits showing the recent NCAA infractions at powerhouses across the country. Beat Army!

You did a fine job of painting the correct picture of lying, deception, greed, and corruption. For any of you that have seen the Tim Roth show, "Lie to Me," there were so many scenes in the movie where he would have had a field day - esp. the Hansen meeting with Parker/Shields/Collins.

Hansen came across as his usual arrogant self, but maybe this will finally put to rest that he killed SMU football. SMU and the boosters killed the program. I actually felt like many of the players (while still guilty) got caught in the middle of something completely out of control, and I came away feeling sorry for some of them. What would any of us done in the exact same situation? Hansen merely got the story first, ran with it, and brought it to air. If things were different, we could all be loathing Scott Murray.

Did not see tonight's showing, but was at the premiere. Can't wait to queue up the DVR and enjoy it again and again.

also, i want to thank you for telling this story to a younger generation of mustangs who have heard the stories and may have read a bit about what happened during those years, but didn't truly have an understanding of what was going on in the landscape of college football at the time. i love my school so much, but i know i have a better appreciation tonight for where we were and how much it means to all of us to get a successful program back and to be doing it the right way.

Power went out in our area just as the announcement was to made at the press conference about the DP. Was that a sign? Have to wait until I can record it at 2 am to see the end.

Why do you think USCAttorneyBillLawyerFan was so upset with Thad when he saw the draft cuts of the movie. He begged Thad to cut most of the USC stuff in the Credits.

He thought it made USC look bad then, but now he thinks the Cam situation and the NCAA double standard makes the Trojans almost look excessively targeted as well.

I am just getting back from an Xmas party with a bunch of SMU grads from around the time of the DP and some grads from some other schools. When I was introduced as an SMU soccer player from 1987, all of them mentioned they were DVRing the program. Lots of discussion about the times and similar issues from other schools. I missed the Lakewood showing and am a little afraid to watch, but it was interesting to get the perspective of others.

Thanks Thad for putting the story out. SMU was a great team during my time at SMU and I am thankful for it. It is tough talking to any body that attended from 1988 on, they cannot imagine what we were, and I feel for them not having football.

Thad, please know that the guys I spoke with that were post 1988 grads were very much into hearing the story and most are going to the bowl game. Thanks for telling the story; I am almost afraid to watch because it is so difficult to remember those days.

All SMU fans should be thankful for what we have and for our history. Despite our loss, we have a rich tradition which many schools can only dream of.
