Carthage Upsets Brownwood

Postby Stallion » Fri Dec 10, 2010 11:23 pm

Last years 3A Champ Carthage stopped this year's No. 1 team Brownwood on 4th down from the 4 yard line with :02 seconds left to hold on to 35-28 victory. Brownwood led by SMU commit Dereck Longoria and Jordan Shipley's brother Jaxon Shipley who is reportedly going to UT-although there are rumors that he might not be solid for UT. Hmm we need a big play WR-supposedly had a great game. Brownwood hadn't been challenged all year. Carthage is led by Jalen Claiborne who visited SMU earlier in the year-recruitinh info on him has been limited since. Came into the game with 94 catches for about 1400 yards and 15 TDs
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Stallion, any thoughts on us picking up any of the guys who have committed to UT now that Davis(OC & QBs) & Muschamp (DC), McWhorter (OL) and Tolleson (DL & ST)

17 year olds have very short term memory, and they see that after a bad year all their position coaches are either fired/resigned or pulled away to the SEC, what happens to the kid who wants to stay close to his grandma?
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

I think it is unlikely-why would recruits jump off the No. 1 Recruiting Class in the Country. But there are 3 that gave us some consideration

LB Chet Moss
FB/RB Joe Bergeron
OLM Josh Cochran

I haven't heard any rumors that they are reconsidering their commitments

Moss & Cochran were recruited by Mac McWhorter (and Davis) who's gone now. sometimes that makes a difference.i wouldn't mind either of them. Cochran would be nice to have on the line.

Bergeron was an applewhite recruit, heck, Major may be in Florida next week.
