Ron Meyer Trivia

Postby Stallion » Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:05 pm

Ron Meyer actually signed two players at SMU who were considered the No. 1 High School Players in the Country. Dickerson and who was the other? If you get it-you will also have to explain.

Good guess. But no-but its something unique like that. There's a catch-you'll recognize it if you remember recruiting in the 70s and 80s. But let me assure you we are talking about No. 1 Rated FOOTBALL player in the Country. A true Recruit-nik or possibly a member of the "Naughty 9" would get this.

Someone Meyer "signed" but who ultimately didnt go to SMU?

Did Meyer sign someone as a junior? Could you do that back then?

back off the track. Something unique about the rules of recruiting in the 1970's.

Face was splashed all over the DFW papers-this should give it away-but Ron Meyer's first HUGE commitment-and he was a Texan

No Waggoner was about Texas Top 25. This guy never played for SMU but he "signed" with SMU. Damn guess the "Naughty 9" aren't Ponyfans

What came a week after SWC Conference signing date in the olden days. Got to have some old coaches on here.
