But seriously though, I had another coworker come up to me today and talk to me about the film. People who don't even keep up with college FB in my office have heard about this film and are catching the reruns of it.

You know, I have to admit I wondered if it really was smart to drag all this mess up again. I read the posts about how great the film was and well, had some serious doubts. What has convinced me that it was a good thing and maybe can put the negative connotation about the era finally to bed were both my kids. My son, 25, who has been to countless games, attended the UH 95 to whatever with me and heard about it and everything else for his whole life as well as my daughter and son in law who have also been to games and the Boulevard etc. were blown away about what really happened during the day. After all my rantings they actually had no idea about what really happened and now do. Kids don’t always listen. They had to see it in a compelling context. It’s turned out to be a positive. Good job Thad. Thanks.

I had a co-worker tell me today that she saw a show the other day about my school----SMU. She (who is a ut fan but was never a student there) then told me about how she never realized all of that went on. Then, in front of a big ut alum/supporter/bleeds orange person, who is also a co-worker, she told us how she didn't realize until she heard Eric DIckerson say that all of the other schools were paying at the time and she thought it was funny when he said F-you, texas!!! Her opinion was that SMU should have been punished but in no way should have gotten the DP...............isn't it way beyond time that all of this came out? Thanks, Thad, for making it happen and making us so proud.
