Dan showing his vast sports knowledge. "So the death penalty. What did that mean? No game? Practice? How bout weights? Who was the coach then? Collins? I had no idea."

They also most likely have no idea that is Mitch is the son of one of the true legends of DFW radio.

More good press. Nice to hear about the "good" old days. Had no idea Kershaw had not played since his junior year in HS in '83 before that '89 season.

It was a great interview but would have been a lot better if they had let Mitch and Brett talk more. Still lots of great insight from those two. And Bob and Dan kept them on for a ling time and were genuinely interested in hearing their stories. Funny Mitch (I think) kept throwing in the Cleveland references for Dan.

That is the most SMU talk you will ever hear on BaD Radio. Thought Mitch and Brett did a good job.

More than ever, this week has proven what I suspected. The SMU name carries serious weight. Far more than TCU ever will. And I know the Frogs may cross their arms and nod their heads in complete disagreement. But I'm telling you, that's the reality.

But here's the deal. Combine this school's national name with a football program that has the ability to go farther than it has, and this thing could explode.

Now, I know that TCU is on it's way to a BCS conference, but I think if we get this thing moving to where we are winning our conference (whichever one that's going to be) on a regular basis, we WILL ABSOLUTELY WIN head-to-head recruiting wars against TCU.

And should we continue to see the program get the infrastructure support that it needs in terms of improvements to Ford and a potential new learning center and IPF, then the sky is the limit. But it requires all of us as fans/alums to do their part by participating in the COMPLIANT way.

We can talk about it. But our actions will speak louder.

If we're truly committed -- and I think we're getting there -- we will do in 7 years what it took TCU to do in 10.

SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY. Like Verne Lundquist said -- there's something about that name.

You bet there is.
