Army 30 SMU 24 (AN IDIOT) Sophomore tailback Zach Line (107 yards per game) has put the run in June Jones' Run and Shoot offense, but quarterback Kyle Padron has had a down year. SMU ended its 25-year bowl drought last year; Army, playing in its first bowl since 1996, will be hungrier and sharper. The bowl has been temporarily moved to SMU's stadium, but you can't pick against Army in the Armed Forces Bow Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/w ... z18OgjilAH

This pretty much has to do with Kyle - putting points on the board and finding open receivers. I am hoping we start out like we did against Marshall in the 1st half. Our D played well enough to beat UCF. They can't pass very well so we'll just box and blitz all day.

More uninformed crap. At least he didn't think Tulsa was playing Army this time.

It seemed like a reasonable summary to me. I think SMU is going to win, but I can't really argue with anything he said. All reasonable points. -Zack Line hyas had a great year. Check -Padron hasn't had a great year. Check -Army is heading to their first bowl in 14 years, similar to us last year, and will be motivated. Check I still think he is wrong, but none of that seemed uniformed.

Maybe my sudden distaste for Mandel is showing. "Can't pick against Army in the Armed Forces Bowl." Maybe he should have noted the fact that SMU is 108th in the nation in turnovers and Army is good at generating them.
Since when did Kyle Padron start having a down year as observed by the outside community? We believe he had a down year because we've personally seen what he's capable of, and he left a lot of points on the field, and a lot of drives stalled. However, his stat line is pretty darn good at 3500 yards, 29 TD's, and only 10 regular season INT's playing in the Run N Shoot as a sophomore.
Oh well, I'm going overboard. The Armed Forces Bowl isn't going to generate that much ink from the big guys. Just have to shut em up on the field.

The "can't pick against" thing is a complete throwaway comment, trying (and failing) to be cute.

No kidding! A down year for Kyle? He's putting up solid numbers. Yes, he's missed Al probably 10 times for TD's, but he has TWO more years to nail the R&S. Imagine if we still had Mr. Pick-Six. Probably wouldn't be in a bowl game.

I haven't seen a lot of predictions but his is the first one where Army is predicted to win. Sorry, I just don't see it. It's not impossible but I think everyone agrees SMU is the better team. It's literally a home game for the Mustangs!
