Parking for SMU gamesBecause I coach a youth football team that plays on Saturdays, I have yet to see an SMU game in Ford. However I have been there several times and it looks like the game day parking situation is hell. I'm hoping to get to the Texas Tech game this year. Anyone have suggestions on parking?
Take the shuttle from Mockingbird Station (DART). Or get there really, really early!
Personal note to Rayburn: please send me an email at my address in my profile. Thanks!
I always park under thing where theres a parking lot but you gotta pay for that I believe. I suggest you get there really early if you wanna good place

there's also parking behind the Radisson across Central and a shuttle service to campus. If you don't want to ride, it's not a bad walk if you're not adverse to exercise. The Radisson is not a bad place for a pre-blvd drink or two, if you're so inclined.
You got that right, CP. I stayed at the Radisson last year for the Rice game and it's not a bad walk at all. Especially with a well concealed open container in your hand.
I have a little ongoing fantasy that they're gonna use part of that newly acquired Mrs. Baird's property for parking for Ford. There's a lot of room, and it's so close. I know it's wishful thinking, but a man can dream.
the Baird property will not be a parking lot - right now it is for storage probably will be for housing
2 new parking lots are going to be built one is where the A-dorm, Lambda Chi and SAE houses are located one is north of the new Blanton center
Baird'sKnuckle - SMU is in the process of land planning for the Baird's site. One of the uses they are reviewing is for additional student housing. I'm sure they'll build parking for the new dorms but don't know about any future parking lots. The land is too valuable to cover with asphalt. They are most likely 4 to 5 years away from pulling the trigger on whatever they deem to do.
ParkingParking isn't hell if you pay the whopping 40$ for season parking. I park next to the stadium every game. And even if I didn't have great parking, I don't think it's any more difficult than any other on campus stadium I have ever been to.
Re:
Where next to the Blanton building? There is no open space north of it until you get to the area right next to the airline garage.
Here is the SMU Campus Master Plan (from 2002 - latest on the SMU website):
The north campus parking garage that d_pony wrote about is #6. http://www.smu.edu/campus_planning/Master_Plan2001.asp
