Re: JJ on with Norm nowTalking about keeping team's interest with a month off.
10 days off for finals. Back at it now. Team staying in Ft Worth to give the kids a bowl experience. Tanks, Helicopters on display at Ford Stadium. More of an away game given the armed forces support. We get home locker room.
Re: JJ on with Norm nowHis format consistent with NFL formats using 3-4 WRS.
On facing 3option - hates that offense. Service academies have to use R&S or option to compete. Navy good prep for option, some differences in the package. Last topic, near death exp in car crash... thinks about it every day. emotional times - lucky to be alive. Here for a reason - work not done. At peace with where he is. Always wanted another chance w/ NFL, but happy where he is.
Re: JJ on with Norm nowNorm is a weirdo. He & June love horses. Especially ones that run fast.
Re: JJ on with Norm nowThe superbowl/nfl comment was interesting
Re: JJ on with Norm now
what did he say? Derail the Frogs!
Re: JJ on with Norm now
Said he felt like he missed an opportunity to win a superbowl, which was always his main goal. Always wanted to get back to the NFL at some point. But bookended with he was at peace where he is now, and is happy to be here. I may have missed a nugget or 2 trying to type, but I think that was the gist.
Re: JJ on with Norm nowMuch appreciated. I think after his car crash June took on a new perspective on life and how he approaches the sport of football. Seems to place high importance on the development of these young men spiritually to help guide them to better things.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: JJ on with Norm nowWhich is what it's all about ultimately.
Re: JJ on with Norm nowGreat job '11.
I can truly relate to the NDE (Near Death Experience). That put a tear in my eye - even at 6:35 in the morning. That explains everything why he's here! GO JUNE & THE PONIES!!! BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: JJ on with Norm nowHope you guys are right about JJ and his motivation here at SMU. That is strong medicine. If I had a son who was a college football prospect, I would be glad if he could play for JJ.
Re: JJ on with Norm nowInteresting question - if a top recruit was a "devout" atheist, would June pass on them because it doesn't fit his spiritual beliefs?
"I think Couchem is right."
