The first day on campus they all should watch the "30 for 30" with Marcus Dupree driving the forklift and clearly understand whats happens when you dont make the NFL without a degree. They all have delusions of being a first round pick.

Funny Darius might not have reached his potential but really 1 full year plus a handful of plays as a Freshman he probably has more catches for a true Sophomore- 80 for 803 yards-than any Receiver in SMU History per play

Any idea on why he gets to play in the bowl? From reports, it sounds like he has no chance of ever re-enrolling in school at SMU.

This makes our already lacking WR corps very thin for experienced playmakers next season.

I was expecting that anyway considering the quality of the secondary him and the other wideouts will be facing. I'd like to see him end up at SFA.

I had been puzzled by the continued pursuit of WR recruits like the recent commit from Abilene. Not now.

Oh thats right... I remember, it is in Ford Stadium... That sure was nice of June and SMU to make sure it is convenient for student athletes to have a close extra resource for their academic purposes...

It is ridiculous that any football player is placed on academic suspension with all the opportunities given to them to succeed academically. SMU just added another player to the "All Academic Suspension Team"...

Agreed. However, the A-LEC has been around for much, much longer than June Jones, and has been located in the Loyd All-Sport Center, connected to Ford Stadium, since it was completed just over 10 years ago. The A-LEC itself is even older in operation than that.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

You cannot blame anyone but the player if they have failed so badly that they can't recover. Any player can go to teh LEC and basically get all their work done for them, and put forth a token effort to most professors and they are just going to pass them.

I met a guy in my backyard who took a 7.5 pound black bass from the pond. What kind of guy takes game like that? Turns out he's a TCU grad and x running back for the frogs who now runs a handy man service...

Heck, go to class, participate and hand it the work and profs will bend over backwards to find a C or D for even the worst student. Blow off class, don't hand in work, don't study outside of class when you don't go and you give the profs nothing to do. I teach college classes and attendance and participation are 15% of the grade. That's a 15 point slush fund for a student that tries. So, if a student gets 45's on all his tests, but comes to class participates and hands in his work, he's going to get that 15 points and perhaps a eek out a D.

Actually, Bobby Chase had the most catches per play.

More than one per play would be amazing.

Right. Remember the ESPN highlight where Bobby catches the ball, runs several yards, loses the ball straight up in the air and catches it again?
