Alex: "I've been trying to tell you guys this, away from the cameras, and behind closed doors Turner is a HUGE problem. Orsini and June have to FIGHT Turner every step of the way. We have to get Turner to resign Steve Orsini."

Where is the board in all this? Doesn't Turner report to them? That CofC, aren't those guys on the board, too? I would think, with their investment in JJ's salary, they would be putting some heat on Turner?

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Funny how this stuff always happens when these guys are on vacation....Give it a week, let them get back from their winter homes with grand kids and see what happens...

At least one big name has removed himself from the running to become Maryland's next coach -- and he turned down a huge pile of money to do so. SMU coach June Jones turned down an incentive-laden offer that could have paid him $3.5 million per year, according to Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News. Other names linked to the job include Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, though Gene Chizik says he personally has not spoken to anyone from Maryland, and Mike Leach, who will be a candidate for every coaching job on the planet until he actually gets hired.

Nah... That would be taking out the one local journalist that actually cares enough to write about SMU.

Define "power play" for me please. Jones cares about power only the extent that it reasonably gives him an opportunity to improve the talent on his football team. To me the term implies ego, something remarkably missing from a guy of June Jones' stature.

I think JJ has the biggest ego at SMU...IMO...RGT is a close 2nd...

The power play is to show the admin that he is going to get what he wants or he is out of here...Can JJ compete at a top level without an IPF, raises for assistants, and being able to get anyone in? Yes, does he want to, maybe?

Do you know him very well? He uses his power to win. That, and the well being of his players and staff, is all he cares about.

Ponyboy...

All you do on here is take opposite sides of arguments...Do you know him very well? Give me your opinion and I'll contradict you...You are what we call a carp in my business...

If you don't think JJ has a huge Ego you are living in a closet...These guys aren't successful because they are bashful...

Can he not win with what the school has given him, answer that question? He took a Hawaii program undefeated with far less resources than he has here....Why does he need more, is it because he needs it or because he isn't getting his way...I am glad he is here and love what he has done to help the program and team, but he can win right now, he has said it many times...
