I found on the 'net that Tim Mason has re-signed with Besancon in France's Pro B League. (I post this here, because it shows that he played for SMU-- well before my time though...) The team finished 17th in Pro A last season, and due to league rules was bumped down to Pro B.
Tim Mason was in my opinion the leader of SMU's SWC championship team in 1993. Good guy, good player. Glad to hear is making a good living playing hoops.
I can't think of another SMU player who I'd rather see have a long career. Tim was a great guy when he was in school, and I'm glad to see him having some success.
Tim was a stud draining the fifteen foot baseline jump shot. Those were the days: Gerald Lewis at the point; Chad Allen draining threes from the two spot; Mason and Mike Wilson at the forwards; and Kinzer in the middle. Gatewood coming off the bench wasn't too bad either. I hope Tubbs can get us back to the NCAA tourney because it has been far too long.
