Seems like everyone has questions re Padron after his inconsistent performance today and for most of the season. My opinion is that Padron came in last year without very much understanding of the R & S and played instinctively just reacting without thinking and things turned out positively. This season he is starting to fully understand the system and is being stymied with information overload. He is simply still trying to do too much thinking and reading and is no longer instinctively reacting. Mistakes get compounded in his mind and he tries to be even more perfect resulting in mistakes. Hopefully, next year Padron will have the experience to think and read and start to act instinctively. This is an age old problem with kids in many sports.

PoconoPony, nice post and observation. Hope you are right. If you are not either the offense is too difficult for a normal human being or we need a new QB.

I think he is right. Padron didn't know what he was doing last year. He didn't read Defenses and SMU did run the Run and Shoot until Hawaii. That's why you you want a Junior and Senior QB especially in this Offense. He is going to start next year and he will end up being a prolific QB.
