BLM in 19 starts (4-15)

36 TDs 33 Ints

KP in 20 starts (12-8)

41 TDs 18 Ints

I'd like to know how many times they lost fumbles.

Lost fumbles are turnovers, Padron had a big one today on the first drive that was the difference. The guy does not wrap up the ball when he scrambles.

From the scoreboard replay it looked like the fumble was caused when Padron tried to hold up on a throw and he was not actually hit when he lost the ball. Those watching on TV, was this the case? Just curious.

Yeah, we was trying to tuck the ball and it slipped out. It was not touched by Army before the fumble.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Padron is a huge improvement on BLM, I don't think anyone would argue that.

However, he doesn't seem to be further improving. We don't know all the factors that could be affecting that. Competition in the spring with Kyle, hopefully Preston, McDermott, and whoever else is in the QB stable will do everyone, and the team, a world of good no matter who emerges as the starter. Kyle responded well the few times this season he was reminded he was not the only option at QB. He needs more reminding in the spring.

yes, KP's stats...and those of the offense...are impressive.

But we need more than hollow stats. We must..MUST...score points. Yesterday 400+ yards of total offense, and 300 yards passing...and we lost.

If we are to take a step forward next season..and to be sure, we did not do that this year...we have to win games. I'll take a 185 yard passing game and a 'w' any day over a 300 yard outing and an L.

If it needs to be boiled down to just a few things, I think the long field all year was a problem. No turnovers, not enough 3 and outs in their territory. Seemed every possession all year started inside our own 20. Good for stats but tough for scoring. We need to become more efficient at creating turnovers. Easier said than done but it needs to happen.

nail on the head...which, I think, speaks to our shortcomings in special teams as well

How many other sophomores to we we expect to play like Sr? Hunt? Line? Davis? Reed? All improved. All had good years. Only one was absolutely the key to our offense. That is a pretty big burden. We allow other players to develop through their years. Our expectations of Hunt were to improve from last year to this year and he did. We expected Pardon to improve and I think he did. Learning to throw the ball away and not take sacks has taken a while but it was evident he had learned that lesson yesterday.

The level of complexity of the offense was greater than last year. Also an improvement. Is he a Heisman candidate yet? No. But he is still improving just like the other Sophs.

This year was a difficult year across the board. Very high expectations with some pretty thin areas exposed (like cornerback). Yet, we found a way to win when we had to and got two extra post season games out of it.
