You might also be especially interested to know that I heard Enright was one heck of a good wrestler. I'll ask around and see how he's ranked. But it can never hurt to anchor your line with a badass grappler!

The Cowboys once had a center who was thought to be too small. His explanation for his succes was that as a wrestler, he had an understanding of leverage and angles, not to mention strength.

His name: Mark Stepnoski. If he wasn't such an open pot smoker, he might get Hall of Fame votes.

The wrestling career can only help Mitch E.

Rivals has the story up today as well as there was a blurb in the DMN. Don't have Rivals membership else I would post. Great pick up for Bennett & the Ponies.

Lemming rates Enright as the 19th best offensive line recruit in the state with 3 stars (out of 5). He is one of the state's top OC prospects at 6'1", 280 lbs., 5.1. There aren't many that can outperform him. If he was 3"inches taller he would be a national recruit. May be the most powerful drive blicker in the state. Makes up for the lack of height with strength, desire, and technique.

BTW, we are also on the list of David Allison 6-5, 290, 5.3 from Humble whom Lemming rates as the 7th best OLM recruit in the state and Travis (Frank) Olexa 6-4, 290, 5.1 from Houston St. Thomas, whom Lemming rates as the 16th best OLM recruit in the state.

nice job-I've been waiting for someone to start getting a subscription to Lemming's service. From what I understand Bennett and Lemming are pretty close as Lemming has mentioned that he has visited Phil Bennett at SMU when analyzing Texas recruits. He probably has a pretty good feel for the players SMU is looking at-but generally he is thought of as more of an expert on Midwest recruiting.

The fact he played Varsity at Southlake Carroll as a freshman is enough for me-- I don't need to hear from some analyst (Lemming, et al)

Good point. Southlake is considered by many to be among the top programs in the nation, not just in the state. If he played that early, he must be nasty.
Welcome to SMU! Great pickup.

1 commitment
1 Texas top 100

I like that percentage.

Southlake Carroll is profiled on page 6C of the sports section today of the Dallas Morning News. A picture of Mitch is included along with Chase Daniel and two other players.

How does Enright look?
Sounds like one strong, beefy dude. Suit him up!

You're going to love Mitch Enright at SMU. He's one of those guys who seems to have been born to play on the offensive line - he stands in and fights, but it's not an uncontrolled rage. He reads defensive linemen very well and is able to counter their moves. He's remarkably light on his feet for a guy his size (I have him listed at 6-2.5, 280), and he's pretty quick. He stays low and has an extremely stable base, making him very hard to knock off his feet. This is a very smart, strong player who could be ready to play (really ready - not just thrown in because of need) faster than most offensive linemen. This is a terrific pick-up for SMU.
