In his day, star players like him had their own locker room separate from the other players! His comments about Pony Excess are borderline comical. He wants us to believe that although he was a top 100 recruit nationally, because his girlfriend/future wife went to SMU we never paid him! I like Craig James because he is a Mustang.....he is a total A-Hole....buy he is our A-hole. He also does not think that Lance was a good QB....after watching the Arkansas game, say what you want about Lance, that kid could run the option!

This comment bothers me. Having shared a locker room with every single SMU player, including James and Dickerson, I can say the separate locker room claim is not entirely accurate. Yes, Freshman, including my freshman class, James and Dickerson''s class and McIlhenney's class were in separate locker room. It was a Freshman thing, not a star thing. But once James wasn't a Fr, he was in the same locker room with the rest of us. And yes he shared the same locker room with us low life as with the high life.

Don't care if you love or hate James, but at least be somewhat accurate in any claims about special considerations. As far as locker rooms goes, he had no, repeat NO, special considerations.

There was a separate locker room where star players were given massages and special treatment. In later days in was known as the soccer locker room. Regardless if you think it existed or not, it was the least of the benefits Craig James saw!!!

He said she said, I'll believe what he said due to the fact that he was right there at the time.

LA Mustang..as the great Dawn would say........

Changed handles because I moved 3x, left the country, changed computers, etc., etc..and unlike 67% of the folks here, I really don't take all this incessant mouth foaming that serious...not really into handle preservation...HA!!

My Fr year, the locker room for us freshmen was next to the trainer's facilities in Owenby. Next moving away from the training facility was the main locker area for the varsity football team. Then furtherest was the soccer locker room. After that were meeting rooms. All were connected by one long hallway. In Pony Excess Meyer has a clip walking down the hallway portion by the meeting rooms.

By James and Dickerson's Fr year, the Fr locker room was moved to the soccer locker room. So you are correct that James was in a different locker room. And it was known as the soccer locker room at one time. But it still wasn't special. All Fr were in that room including McIlhenny the next year.

In Pony Excess, they show a quick clip of the old varsity locker room (and one clip has my old locker in it). James locker was almost directly across the room from mine once he moved to the varsity locker room. Lockers were assigned by the player's number so certain positions tended to be in the same area every year.

For those that don't remember Owenby, or never even saw it, the facilities were very, very limited. There was no room for a separate anything. It was a pretty cramped area and space for special anything wasn't available.

That's exactly how I remember it-and it wasn't anything special at all. My twin was on the Soccer team, his roomate and our high school friend [deleted] Blaylock was on the Football team, and my roomate was on the Soccer team. Actually I guess I thought it was just Football Walk-ons that were stuck in that lockeroom so it wasn't thought of as cool at all. I was down in that particular locker room a bunch when I worked for the SID.

But other than the facts and eye witness testimony, what else do you two have to prove your points?

Stallion if you knew [deleted] Blaylock I am sure you also knew Charlie as well. I was sad to hear of his passing. The Blaylocks and my family were good friends growing up in North Dallas.

I didn't know that. sorry to hear that. I've known both the Blaylock families since elementary school. Known Kathy Blaylock since 1st grade. Then [deleted] Blaylock transferred into Preston Hollow in third grade and we both went to St. Mark's in 7th grade. Chuck Blaylock was at St. Marks too. Then [deleted] Blaylock's mom worked in Caruth Hall where my Mom worked too. Oh I forgot Suzie Blaylock too.
