We were able to get this former Mustang who played wing back with Doak to the game. He had a great time revisiting the campus and shared lots of stories: stoping halfway during a two day train ride to an away game to practice in a field along the tracks, being the first team to take a plane to a game, Aggies trying to steal Peruna, the guys he played with, etc. He couldn't believe the campus and stadium. When he was in school - Dallas Hall, Letterman, and (I believe) Perkins were the only buildings.

Robert (Bob) Ramsey
Forgot the name of the SMU sports historian person, but Robert has a lot of old memorabilia and stories if interested.

Nice job 89 making it possible for this old Mustang to get to the game and back on campus again. Only thing better would have been a win to cap it off.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I didn't do anything. A lot of good people offered assistance for a good cause.

Looks like a guy who was probably a pretty fierce competitor in his day.
