DMN said DC was national champion last year of whatever national christian league it plays in. Probably more DOH spin.

You all know that I don't often complain about the schedule...but the game against Dallas Christian should have never been scheduled and whoever thought it was a good idea to play them should be fired as they have exhibited that they completely lack good judgment.

SMUMustangs.com uses file photos all the time, in all sports. I expect they don't shoot every game, if only to keep down costs.

As for the scheduling ... it is confusing, to say the least. The idea of scheduling cupcakes, while not that exciting, is on some level understandable. But why on New Year's Day, going head-to-head with bowl games? They could have scheduled a real school and not drawn much, but this team ... on New Year's Day? Makes zero sense.

That said, I'm glad we won, and won big. Honestly, it should have been a larger margin than it was. Several players looked uninterested (go figure) for much of the game. If not for a flurry of 3s, DC might have stuck around, as they clearly were making it their game of the year. Nyakundi has really shot the ball well lately, and Walker hit three 3s in about two minutes, which was nice. Clink was OK, Dia was OK ... Luttman got a silly technical for slapping the backboard while dunking, which clearly irked Coach Doherty, so Kwaitkowski got in for a few minutes, as did some walk-on guard I've never heard of. Basically a very methodical win over an absurdly outmanned team.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
...
"Hit it."

I'm thinking attendance and all else was irrelevant. The sole reason for scheduling this game was to pad the W's.

So, Senator - how is the "real" record 0-13?

There has been no quality wins in this schedule. Everybody SMU has played either has a terrible reocrd, plays in a one-bid conference or isn't even Division I such as Fort Worth Diamond-Hill Jarvis Christian, Waylon Jennings Baptist and Hardrock Cafe Simmons.

November and December have been an incredible waste of time.
