Re: NFL Combine: Aldrick RobinsonPlus the fact that our coaches welcome pro scouts to watch practice. We have had a lot of them visit this past season and that just enhances the exposure our players get.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: NFL Combine: Aldrick Robinson
how could he not after that stellar bowl performance Derail the Frogs!
Re: NFL Combine: Aldrick Robinson
I believe Todd McShay rated him either the #6 or #9 kicker overall. I can't imagine more than 2-3 kickers get drafted, so I doubt he gets an invite. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: NFL Combine: Aldrick Robinson
That kind of speed honestly means jack in the NFL. Look at the Raiders and ask them how "speed kills". The only thing it's killed is their franchise.. Look at the good receivers out there - most are possession guys - with some just being blessed with speed a little speed. The exceptions are people like Mike Wallace, Holmes and Dejean Jackson - but those guys are few and far between. Al is a really good college WR - but he's light years behind Sanders in technique and work ethic from what I understand. He's not big, didn't return much in college.. just don't see him making a roster. He'll get a chance - and I would love for him to prove me and others wrong - but I just don't see him making it. What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
Re: NFL Combine: Aldrick RobinsonI also think he's faster than McCann, and as coaches say, you can't teach that. Plus, he showed he's more than just a sprinter — 14 touchdowns in a season is no joke, regardless of the offensive system, and he seems to have gotten better running routes and his hands are better. His size (he can't be over 5-9) will hurt him, so I bet he slips to the 5th or 6th round, but it wouldn't be shocking to see a Combine invitation or a late draft pick. Good luck, Al!
