Am I correct that Williams will be eligible in January 2012?
Man, there is going to be a MAJOR infusion of talent into the program next season. I haven't felt this good about the B-ball talent level since the Sasser, Davis, Q, B-hop days. Of course back then we lacked a quality big man and didn't have depth. If Doh and Co. can shape this new group properly, this could be the best and most well-balanced SMU team since I've been associated with the Hilltop.

Actually eligible in mid December of THIS year. Good stuff as he can practise this year and be ready for next season..the SMU practices will be competive now, which we haven't had for a while.

Interesting. That's very good news. Just curious. . .how exactly does that one-year sit out thing work? I always figured it ran from the day the player signed with his/her new school. Does it actually run from some earlier date.

You have to be in the new school for 1 year. Since he is a January transfer he can play as soon as the fall semester ends.

It varies by sport and by conference. That is simply the NCAA minimum. I know when we were in the WAC football and basketball had a 2 year sit-out period for intra-conference transfers, while non-revenue sports had a 1 semester sit-out period. However, in general it is a 1 year waiting period, depending on your sports calendar.

From the sources I have, the scout team consistently whoops the starting squad in practice/scrimmages and this infuriates doh. As the attitude continues, "there's always next year.."
i always feel bad looking at the Fab Four sitting at the end of the bench. At times it's comical...they clearly are into the games..especially Vilde...but from time to time you'll see one or more of them stand when we attempt a 3, ready to cheer a la Dirk on the Mavs broadcast the other night....only to see the shot clang off the rim.
Cotton looks bored out of his mind over there.
Regarding the fact that the Fab Four whip the starters and infuriate Doh, is there anything that does not infuriate Doh?

Yea, this is true. I was told by 2 sources that see practice every single day that the best 3 players on the team are Vilde/Dia & Smith. After that, Giles & and now Pats. Nyakundi comes in 6th.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones
