When is the Texas Story Going to Break?Speculation outside of Texas is rapant about a major scandal about to be released in the out-of-state press concerning our friends in Austin. Even my brother called me from Chicago about it wondering if I knew anything. According to him this could shake UT, Mack Brown and Deloss Dodge.
My only comments to him, there has got to be a reason, that Mack can't get his assistants lined up; that a team that could beat Nebraska could end in shambles; and that Mack has lost all his key assistants . I was thinking it was the Bowl season, but now almost every asssitant is free to negotiate and a number have already turned down the offers from UT, calling Austin the "Best Little Whore House in Texas". What do you hear? or is this just wishful thinking?
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?I have heard nothing. Please enlighten us.

Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?nothing in the works
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? The speculation is very damaging, I would prefer that everyone just keep the ears open and see if there is any validity rather than appear a reckless fool--but the line about the Best Little Whore House in Texas keeps repeating itself.

Old news. Been out for weeks.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?elebrity Attorney Involved As Mack Brown's Right-Hand Man Takes Leave
By Jeff Beckham on Oct 18, 2010 On Friday, the Statesman reported that University of Texas associate athletics director for football operations, Cleve Bryant, had taken an administrative leave of absence. But the most curious detail in the story was that California attorney Gloria Allred confirmed that she had been hired by a female client "in reference to Mr. Bryant." Allred's client is a former part-time employee of the Texas athletics department. Allred has been involved in several high-profile cases, including ones involving O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson and Robert Blake. The Statesman reported that Allred "would not comment, yet" on the name of her client or why she hired legal representation. The University has been quiet on the reasons for Bryant's leave. UT athletics spokesman Nick Voinis confirmed to the Daily Texan that Bryant is on administrative leave for personal reasons but did not provide additional details. Bryant's wife, Jean Bryant, a life skills counselor with the university, also took a leave of absence, according to the Statesman. Cleve Bryant, 63, has been part of Mack Brown's staff at Texas since the head coach came to UT in 1998. In 2006, the New York Times described Bryant as Brown's "buffer, confidant and mind reader". According to Bryant's profile on mackbrown-texasfootball.com, he "works extensively in handling and supervising all of the administrative operations and responsibilities of the football program. He oversees everything from team travel and event scheduling, to recruiting weekends, housing and game day operations."

Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? They didn't pay for sex, they paid for time and companionship
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?Gloria Allred is involved! No doubt UT comes out of this smelling like a yellow rose.

94 is right. This was initially posted here on December 17. I don't know how to post a link on the mobile platform yet, though. Derail the Frogs!
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? The real questions are, why is this story heating up again? why did the program and team seem to fall apart late this fall? and where are Mack's assistants? or is it all just coincidence?
These articles seem more like the first shoe to drop...where is the second? Do you really expect true investigative journalism from the DMN or the Austin American regarding Texas' football? For those who don't know Gloria Alread (from her website): "A Fearless Advocate for Justice and Equality Gloria Allred is the most famous woman attorney practicing law in the nation today, a tireless and successful advocate whose high-profile legal battles on behalf of victims whose rights have been violated have led to many landmark precedent-setting court decisions and hundreds of millions of dollars which she has won for her clients." Gloria Allred doesn't waste her time on trivial matters. She also doesn't waste her firm's time on matters that don't have the potential for a big payday.
