Re: Luck decides to stay at StanfordI'm willing to bet Mr. Luck asked that question before making his decision and got an answer from someone who has a pretty good idea of what the landscape will look like.
Let's not be Lemmings here, even if you're well-educated, well-to-do, or smart, you aren't going to turn down 50-55 million in guarenteed money doing the thing you love most.
Re: Luck decides to stay at StanfordIf I recall his dad is worth several hundred million dollars and owns the Houston Dynamos. His Dad knows every real estate developer in the State of Texas. If Andrew blows out a knee, I suspect that every architecture firm in the state would be knocking on his door and waiving some $$$$ for his services even without a portfolio. Stanford has a ton of players coming back, and he wants to help his friends win a National Championship. I suspect that Stanford will be preseason ranked in the Top 3 next year. So, if they can run the table, he'll probably win the Heisman and get to play for the NC.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Luck decides to stay at StanfordHis dad is the AD at west virginia and played in the NFL...I don't think he is in real estate business...could be wrong
Re: Luck decides to stay at Stanford
I know we have gone back and forth on this, but I am pretty sure that this is the last year that there will be no rookie pay scale. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Luck decides to stay at StanfordYou need to look it up....agreement ends in march....

"You will also hear the argument that these kids should come out so they can get paid before they get hurt. If there is no CBA then there is no money. None of these guys will get a deal because you do not know if there is a rookie cap or what the salary cap may be. They will be sitting around for a year without football and without a penny in their pocket. Money cannot be the issue. There won’t be any. Since there is no money I see many of them going back to school. You may see guys like Andrew Luck, Patrick Peterson and A.J. Green come out because they have so much to lose if they go back. Their stock is so high right now that coming back could turn them into what is Jake Locker this year. Everyone scrutinizing every move and your stock drops due to the amount of attention they will get. Thus I will assume those 3 will stay in the draft and all others will return to school. That leaves you with just the senior class."

Fair enough good sir. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Luck decides to stay at StanfordIts a decent risk to come out early...you could end up in the CFL or UFL
Re: Luck decides to stay at StanfordWith Harbaugh going to the 49ers, maybe Luck decides to come out early. Watch 49ers trade for number 1 pick with Carolina. If that happens before Feb, Luck is coming out.
Re: Luck decides to stay at StanfordOk this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Luck decides to stay at Stanford
Correct, his dad used to be GM of the Houston Dynamo who I believe used to be (or still are) owned by Phil Anschutz who has invested in real estate (among many other things) but made his money in oil and gas. I believe that's as close as Oliver Luck gets to "being in real estate"
Re: Luck decides to stay at Stanfordsee my post above for all your answers.
