Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?Stallion I wondered when your ridiculous defense of UT would surface, not even a day. My boy, this is going to get real interesting! This is going to rank right up there with your comments concerning June Jones inteviewing with Orsini for the SMU job. Now I am certain there is more to this than smoke and mirrors!
When is the Texas Story Going to Break?Let us know when it does.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?I won't have to, it will either come to the surface--you don't think the LA press will let this sit? or it will be fiction, are you a betting man? This sounds like it could be real fun! This law firm, yes, Stallion a real law firm , with real partners, doesn't spend time on simple cases of wife abuse, or a coach cheating on his wife. Think about it. We are talking about Mack Brown's spritual Guru who has been in charge of the official recruiting visits, not some graduate assistant.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?
I think SMU is the only school that has ever paid players and should disband football forever. I believe that the BCS should declare UT perpetual national champions because they have no boosters who have ever so much as spat on the sidewalk in the history of the world. I am in awe of Mack Brown and the University of Texas Longhorns.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?
I suspect they already have seen it and have given it a private funeral. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?
Or much of the senior staff have a UT connection...oh, wait, that would be bias. Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

You simply don't understand that Universtiy of Texas graduates are so full of integrity and sense of fair play that they would never allow their devotion to their school interfere with their commitment to even handed journalism.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?
I'll agree they're full of something. ![]() Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?I know for a fact, UT flew Boise's OC in today for an interview. Here is a link to the jet they used....http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N10EG
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?Intresting, plane came from Midland. Hmmmmmm
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?I have no dog in this hunt and rightly don't care, just seems if there is a huge storm coming there would be more than some random post about it coming and a major law firm working on it
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? You are absolutely right to question this...but only months ago UT had everyone believing that they could make more money joining the PAC, giving up their TV rights, having an equal split of revenue amongst schools, in a time zone that the East Coast doesn't know exits, rather than staying in the Big 12, keeping their TV rights and forcing everyone to give them a larger share..."spin control"
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?A little OT, but one of my parents friends went to UT in the early 80s. He is a mutant of a man, but did not play on the team. He would go to an Austin pharmacy to cash checks (pre-ATM) and the lady behind the counter would always try to give him double the cash me made the check out to. He would correct them, give the rest back, and they would look at him funny for not taking it.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?NCAA: Texas Tech broke recruiting rules
The NCAA is accusing Texas Tech of major rules violations tied to nearly 1,000 impermissible text messages sent to football, softball and golf prospects. The NCAA released its findings Friday. It said the school discovered the violations and reported them to the NCAA. Penalties could include two years probation, recruiting restrictions and scholarship reductions. The NCAA says the football violations occurred between August 2007 and February 2009, which would have come under former coach Mike Leach. The NCAA says the football coaching staff sent approximately 234 text messages to 45 prospective student-athletes. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
