I'm glad June Jones is here...but, I find his blatant disregard for our traditions and school colors very disrespectful to the long suffering alumni and fans who supported our team through those most gawd awful 20 years of SMU football after the DP. These are the fans who also proudly wore our school colors and held on to our long standing traditions during those times. The culture of losing that developed during those 20 years most certainly needed to change, but our traditions and school colors were not the reason our teams developed that losing culture. There are ways to change that culture without destroying those things that held us all together during those miserable years. Rant over...for now.

Yes...every new coach wants to change the uniform for some damn reason, but the current Mustang on the helmet has not changed and has been used for over 40 years now. It has been predominantly red though it has on occasion been blue and maybe white though I don't remember that.

Well...what about Phil Bennett's pseudo-CFL red jerseys with that awful Navy/Red Mustang combo. Seeing our jerseys now and then looking back at those, they were tough on the eyes. Didn't look collegiate at all, either.

someone posted the Rashaun Woods youtube video where he set the ncaa record for td receptions in a game. didn't realize how atrocious those helmets/unis were...gross...
