Again, it takes several of those types of classes. And Bennett was a hard-[deleted] who lost his players.

"lost his players"...it was probably really because he wouldn't let them wear black. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Yes, expect a lot of "All Out" blitzing.

This is not great news for us. I agree he is not head coach material - mostly since his staff was weak - but he will be really good in that slot for Baylor. And we do compete with Baylor for recruits going forward (not so much up to this point). Very non-Baptisty coaching style - although they will overlook that if there is even a modicum of success - hypocracy resides in Waco full time.

The "All Out" game was maybe the low point in a catalogue of low points for Bennett.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Would rather see Phil get a HC position in CUSA. One less team for us to worry about.

his recruitment skills have always been grossly exaggerated-I think he's a decent Defensive Coordinator though

They probably won't have the "All Out" perfected for the '11 season. We'll have a distinct advantage having run that under Phil should he try it on us in '12.

It will be interesting to follow his recruiting. It was documented here that while at SMU he would not even approach higher level recruits, conceding that they would not be interested in SMU (or perhaps any AQ school) in his opinion. Will he now be willing to go after bigger fish or will he personally concede that Waco is not Austin or Norman and pass on other top level recruits. I would imagine he will not pass on any now so it will be interesting to see if he has the ability to get them to Waco.

His defensive skills are so good....(How good are they?)....

They are so good not even his own team could score from one yard out against Rice in 8 tries.
