Our team is as talented as Tulane, they just don't play with as much basketball IQ
really? I see them beating us on the dribble, and don't see any of our players doing that. The foul on the breakaway was a stupid play, but other than that, I don't see us making stupid decisions or running horrible offense as we did in the past.

52-47 Wave
Whoops 54-47 as I was typing this.
i'm not saying opponents don't go in lulls against us, they do. But when they need to score, when the game gets close or fairly close, we can't stop people.

Whenever we take it inside, we very rarely kick it out to the open man. They do. Our defense is completely unable to recognize offensive sets and plays. Theirs isn't.

when Dia does attempt to kick the ball out from the low post, he turns it over more often than he delivers an assist

Probably a result of poor coaching over the past three years. It's a fundamental thing.

We have to get someone else in or next year's recruiting class will be nothing more than a highly rated disappointment

I'd be ok w handing it to Mangino if there's no $ to can Doh and get another guy. Who knows, maybe that's what they had in mind when they hired a search firm to find Mangino

I thought SMU played on Sunday. So this thread kind of threw me. Had no idea the game was Saturday -- and in the afternoon. Didn't even know the game was against Tulane. I figured the CUSA season was starting this weekend. But I guess that makes sense when no longer care about what this thing is doing. BTW, I love the talking points PonyDoh spews out when he writes that the AD was writing off 2010-11. That's the way to get people a little interested. And if that is the case, let's make sure the write-off is complete by writing off the head coach. I'm sorry, Doh! I don't know if that's what you're hearing or if that's your read on this, but to use your teminolology -- SMU is coaching graveyard -- the school doesn't help that reputation by doing what it's doing if it keeps Doherty -- with or without a heralded class coming in. The dye is going to be so far cast that not even the euphia of this class will draw the casual fan. A new coach and new vision will. And you of all people understand that.

Wow, Senator, talk about fast -it's as if your euphoria was instantly diminished, there. Scary.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
