Ross signs with Los Angeles Clippers
2003 grad heads for NBA

LOS ANGELES (NBA) - The Los Angeles Clippers today signed free agent swingman and SMU grad Quinton Ross. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

The 6’6" Ross, who averaged 5.4 points per game with the Clippers during the 2003 preseason, played last season in Belgium before joining the Clippers 2004 Summer League Team.

Ross was named 2003 WAC Player of the Year during his senior season at SMU, where left as the school’s fourth all-time leading scorer. He averaged 14.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 119 games played during his four-year collegiate career. Ross averaged a career-high 20.3 points per game as a senior in 2002-03.

After being released by the Clippers prior to the start of the 2003-04 season, Ross signed with Telindus BC Oostende (Belgium), where he averaged 16.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He also averaged 14.6 points per game for Oostende in FIBA Europe Cup Play.
"It’s hard to overstate how impressive SMU has been on the recruiting trail since the ACC announced the Mustangs would be joining the league”

Couldn't be happier for Q. I am suddenly a fan of the OC Clippers.

You and me both. I don't know who they've added this offseason, but losing Richardson to Phoenix can't hurt. Are they deep at the SG and SF positions?

Way to go, Q!
Who knows, the way they're collecting point guards (Devin Harris, Jason Terry, Avery Johnson, Dan Dickau) and centers (Erick Dampier, Calvin Boothe, Evan Echemeyer, Shawn Bradley, D.J. Gbenga - not sure how you spell his name), they might find themselves in need of another swing man. Surely they have enough bodies to trade. I mean, I hope he becomes a star with the Clippers, but from a purely selfish standpoint, I'd love to see him playing at home in Dallas.

They added Kerry Kittles from the Nets this offseason. So Kittles and Maggette are the probable starters at SG and SF. They also have Bobby Simmons as well that would play that position. Hopefully, he'll get some PT this season.
