The reason TCU gets the combat uniforms and the big push from Nike is because TCU is GOOD. Not simply because they're a Nike school.
Pretty sure I said the same thing in my first post. I said we wouldn't have a combat uni. I do think we would be on display in this little high school experience zone because we were local and Nike would like to capitalize on JJ's name.
As I stated numerous times, I don't care if it is Nike or BK freaking Knights, I just want SMU to associate itself with innovative and respected companies so we are at least in position to capitalize on similar opportunities in the future if they present themselves.
I can't stress enough, this isn't just about the ugly [deleted] uniforms, its about taking an active role in positioning SMU to be involved in future trends. That is not currently happening at SMU, our athletic department is about as modern and cutting edge as Moody Coliseum. We are the opposite of cutting edge. When HD technology was prevalent, we got swindled into buying a $1 million lite-brite scoreboard for Moody which shows a lack of foresight and awareness of general athletic venue trends on behalf of the athletic administration.
