Re: NCAA Rules on CreatineDo SMU trainers distribute creatine? Or is it illegal?
Re: NCAA Rules on CreatineThe trainers do not distribute any weight supplements, etc. If anything of the sort was to be given out, it would be from the strength staff, but I do not know if they give that kind of stuff out. Sounds like if they did, come August 1st, they can't!
We have got a bunch of past players on the board, I will let them answer that question! Good to have you guys! ------------------ Please click on an ad when you get a chance. Re: NCAA Rules on CreatineTo past players (Merritt, Swann, Perkins, etc.):
Contact your friends who played with you at SMU, and encourage them to get on this board! We love to hear the opinions and stories from former players.
Re: NCAA Rules on CreatineWe used to get creatine from Coach Jost and the strength staff. Leitgib (SP?) introduced it back in 95, but it wasn't purchased for the players until a little later when Coach Dave and Norad were around. I don't know how it is handled now. I think it'll be interesting to see how it is handled in the future because I know some significant gains have been seen from using it.
Re: NCAA Rules on CreatineCreatine was given out by the strength staff when we played. You must be careful with this stuff, because if someone is not monitoring the doses properly you can get serious cramping and liver damage.
Just stick with meat, potatoes, and beer; it will do the job.
