First two photos that accompany the story show Pastner in various states of dismay/distress/confusion...
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

Their board is in a meltdown.

Sorry to see it that way, though. I like Pastner and I like the Tiges.

Hah! what a great read, you can feel the contempt and disbelieve oozing from the page.

Congrats to SMU, lets rush the court a few more times this season.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

I am very happy we beat Memphis, but I sure hope we don't rush the court any more this season unless and until we win the conference tournament.

I know it's Memphis, but you don't rush the court when you beat an unranked team who you also beat last year, and one who got completely demolished by Tennessee last week.

Why not? When you have been as far down for as far long as SMU's basketball program, why not have a little fun with a win like this? I think its a fair statement that with this squad, any "expectation of victory" is a bit premature. If we wait to rush the court until we win the C-USA tourney, beat Duke on the road, or make the final four, I'm afraid I will be an old, old man before we get that chance.

Great win Ponies! Could it be that maybe. . .just maybe. . .this program is heading in the right direction?

2000 people at the game? Ouch! That's embarrassing and doesn't help us in discussions for moving up in conferences.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

yeah, what was announced? 2500 I think? Fewer students, and fewer Memphis fans believe it or not, than the last two times.

I'll bet last year there were a thousand more students there than were there last night,

It was a solid 2500, not just an announced number.

After reviewing the Moody upgrades (i.e., restroom), I went back to see if a bunch of students were still on the floor. They had dissipated and only the band, prez and a few stragglers were putting ears up in front of the band for the alma mater. The students just rushed the court for the fun of it to be a little crazy and then took off. It wasn't like Florida State beating #1 Duke. The only other time I can imagine rushing the court would be clinching the conference title.

Yes, it was a bit more crowded last year but not appreciably so. It seemed to be about 40% Memphis fans.

They have me to thank for student turnout the last two years . My buddy (the guy dressed as a pizza slice last night) and passed out flyers on campus the Thurs/Fri before reminding everyone of the memphis red out last year, and I must say it worked pretty well.

School doesn't start for another week, so I am pretty happy with the student turnout. As far as the dallas community, sheesh.

So you were dressed up as the wolf disguised as Granny??? I liked the look of you and the Pizza Slice. Get a third to dress up as the purple hippo and we might have a new tradition starting..........

It was great the frats were there raising a little hell. We don't need to bash that enthusiasm one tiny bit. Their loud cheering during the game raised our players' energy. And they were doing it when we were 12 points down. I say mosh it up whenever you feel like it, students!

Hope that the football team can increase the interest in SMU athletics overall. Surely wouldn't hurt the basketball team. Pre June Jones, I can't imagine there was much school pride given the abysmal football and basketball teams in place.

Especially with NTSU doubling our attendance every time they open the doors and a mediocre TCU team drawing over 3,000 per. I imagine there will be a greek soiree that will account for a weak showing of students vs UH Saturday afternoon. Does 11 students charging onto the court after a win qualify as "rushing the court"?
