Re: I am tired of uniform ThreadsDon't care for the stickers either. However, I can imagine for the kids it is a badge of honor to earn one. Something to be said for that.

Re: I am tired of uniform Threads
I actually kind of like them. If I remember correctly they have a warrior meaning. I think that sends the right message. Last think I want to see is a bunch of peruna's on the helmet we already have 2 big ones. The diamond M idea is ok but lets be honest here it really doesn't motivate you. You see a guy especailly someone like a LB with a bunch of the stickers you know the guy is a true warrior. I say keep them. GO Ponies!!!!

Re: I am tired of uniform Threads
Shameful. In today's political climate we need to tone down such violent rhetoric! How about stickers with pink breast cancer "awareness" ribbons? "I think Couchem is right."

Re: I am tired of uniform Threads
Don't you just HATE it when Stallion is right? ![]() Fact Is: 1. June Jones needed to "butch up" the Rainbow Warriors, because let's face it, the whole rainbow thing... Well, let's just say it came to mean something other than what was originally intended. 2. Hawaii didn't have a great sense of football tradition to mess with, so changing it didn't matter much. 3. Hawaii's colors were green and a bunch of other colors. When you mix all those other colors together, you get black. It's not like they changed from a specific school color (e.g. red or blue to black). 4. The warrior stickers, while an extremely cool bit of design, has absolutely no relevance to SMU. SMU players ARE GOING TO GET TIRED of "this is the way we did it in Hawaii". Look, we've been to 2 back-to-back bowls now. Time to be proud of our own tradition. Let Hawaii say, "This is how they do it at SMU." 5. SMU has one of the most storied football programs in the history of the college game. Taken collectively, it's still one of the most successful programs of all time. For you youngsters, look in the NFL Hall of Fame, and you'll get a sense of what SMU is trying to screw up here. 6. Red and Black is Texas Tech. They branded it. It's theirs. Leave it alone or move to Lubbock. 7. We had the sharpest Unis in the country. We built one of the most successful brands in college football using those colors. To say we need to change them to attract recruits is a cop out. 8. Players like Nike. They don't [deleted] about the colors. They [deleted] about the unis not being Nike. 9. Giving the players black uniforms is a half-assed way to give them something they perceive as being "cool" that's not Nike. Long story short, the analogy is that we're trying to use a splint to cure a cancer patient: June is trying to use the same "cure" in a time, place and situation that's completely different from the problem at Hawaii. The only players I've ever hear gripe about unis has nothing to do with the colors. If you want to solve the problem, SMU either has to dump Adidas or Adidas needs to get off their butt and come up with something cooler than Nike's combat unis. The fix is that simple. And it has nothing to do with color. There you go. That's it. No need for further uniform threads. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
Re: I am tired of uniform Threads
i liked most of your post, but that's a little of a stretch... their colors are green and white by the way. not "a bunch of other colors".
Re: I am tired of uniform Threads
before he got there, they were the rainbow warriors. after, no more rainbows. i'm not a hawaii alum obviously, that that's probably a good thing to change. NTTIATWWT Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
