man what are disasterous coaching search that has been. Hell they could have had Franchione last week or Leach-they end up with Bill Blankenship. Wow. And I do know who he is but geez.

Looking at his age and resume it's clear Tulsa wanted a guy who would be cheap and wouldn't leave for another job if successful.

Tulsa: SportsbyBrooks reports that Tulsa offered the job first to Texas A&M defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter, who turned down the job upon hearing the salary was $500,000. Bill Blakenship has since accepted the head coaching job.

Over four seasons, WRs, Special Teams, RBs, and Senior Associate Head Coach, per the Tulsa Sports website. Previously at Tulsa Union HS for fourteen years with several state chanpionships. went to HS at Spiro and played QB for Tulsa where Jerry Rhome was one of his coaches.
