As I'm new to SMU sports, is it typical to have so few fans at a women's basketball game? I would think for a game on ESPN2 they would be able to get a lot of students to come out.

It's not a lot less than most crowds, but I saw nothing all week from the athletic department to market this game, which is a shame considering how good this team has been over the years.

This is the type of game where they need to really push on getting the students out, painting their faces and having a chance to be seen on national tv! Something to work on.

I took the family to the game and we had a good time. It was an exciting game and my daughter enjoyed the autograph session afterward.
Since the Spring semester doesn't start until Tuesday, I don't think there was an expectation that there would be many students there. Hopefully student participation will increase as the season progresses.
FYI. They are having Operation Sellout on Feb. 20 against UAB--so mark it on your calendars.
