Re: If TCU's recruiting is SO far superior to ours
Newton just won the Heisman....worst argument ever...he didn't want to sit for 2 years so he left. I am sure Florida didn't want him to leave...
Mustain started for the razorbacks and prob would have been all 4 years there, but his momma disagreed with Nutt...He could have started at 95% of schools he happened to pick a school that has placed back-ups in the NFL...
You examples are terrible...

Let me add insight into my thought process. SMU is coming off a 10-2 season and is 12-0 and playing in a BCS bowl. TCU in Big east is 10-2 and get's shafted when they lose out on the conference title to Rutgers - who beats them head to head.
THAT is the plan.
And those football players who want to get a real degree can sign on the dotted line this Feb to be a part of it.

Wall is a top 100 player in the country at his position. He also might be a back plan for a player TCU couldn't get. If TCU and others take some of our major recruits like Wall, they will continue to go to the BCS bowls and we will be at the weedeater bowl.

I am waiting for the day that Texas just sits back and waits while the HS season is being played. They let the kids commit to other schools and bide their time, all the while evaluating and watching for injuries to good players or breakout years for previously marginal players. Then, about a week before signing start calling the kids they want and get them to switch over. I almost think they could sign better classes then they do know.

My point on Newton is he was basically kicked out of Florida, yea he ended up being a great player but when it comes to class ranking out of highschool he helped florida's recruiting ranking but not thier team which happens a lot. I'm not saying from a performance perspective\Newton was a bust I mean was he a bust for the recruiting calss he was in, in this case was he a bust for florida? the answer is yes
Re: If TCU's recruiting is SO far superior to ours
i don't think the rivals system is supposed to evaluate "how good a player is for that particular school". it's just an overall rating of how talented the guy is/might be in a couple years.
cam newton would be appropriately ranked very highly.

Boise hasn't sniffed the Top 75 in Recruiting in 10 years, yet the results speak otherwise.
When VaTech played for the national championship (Vick), the best class they had (5 classes) was 29.

interesting find GRGB. That is a lot more surprising than tcu/boise classes being ranked less highly.

Boise gets a lot of transfers and extreme marginal academic kids...who aren't reflected in their recruiting...

Problem with that logic is that we can't slip up once. They could lose 4 games like uconn did and still be in a bcs bowl.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Its a great ?
The major flaw in the rivals argument....TCU has never had a top 25 recruiting class
It is no secret that TCU's classes have not historically ranked well for the recruiting services. I am sure you know TCU focuses a lot on taking the best players on a high school team and shifting them to other positions which results in it being hard for a recruiting service to rate certain players. After all, for example, how can you rate a QB in high school that will play a LB in college? Regardless, TCU is starting to get some more top talent at least according to the recruiting services as we currently are ranked as the #25th best recruiting class this year. However, I think we will see a higher ranked class next year as this years Rose Bowl win happened too late to really affect recruiting for 2010.
TCU's new challenge will be having to figure out how to do well getting some of the top talent and blending it in with their standard diamonds in the rough recruiting. How well they do that will determine whether TCU can become an elite program or just a team that can occasionally have a top team every few years.

I'm so sorry for TCU that you'll have all that "top talent" to deal with. Terrible problem. Frankly, it's posts like this that make it hard to offer TCU fans an honest congratulations on their RB win. Get off the SMU board and get ready for mediocreville in the Big East!
I'm sure you were one of those who thought they made a mistake going to the MWC. How did that prediction work out? Lets fix 7-7 losing to Army before we boast their demise.
