according to Rivals, both teams have offered 3 players if you agree that Carter Wall has a full offer from TCU which both Rivals and Scout state is a little unclear with conflicting reports.

I'm assuming you mean whether he was given a verbal offer or a written offer. I think people overlook the importance of this. It may not have as much meaning this late in the cycle but if TCU really wanted him, I would have assumed they sent him a written offer.
A verbal offer is "sketchy" -- their word against yours. The proof of that is whether he will get a LOI from the Horned Frogs.
A part of me thinks he took an official visit there. Buuuut, did their coaches just want to look at him and go from there? I'm not sure. That's why I ask.

or it could be a full offer/greyshirt offer issue. Really they could have handed him his written offer on his visit-I don't think that is likely since TCU has been recruiting him for a long time

TCU got commits from 4 star Chuck Hunter this weekend and from former Tech commit Jon Lewis as well as most likely switched former OU commit Brandon Carter of Trinity.
You should be happy carter Wall was in that mix.[/quote]
Yes, one thing working in SMU's favor regarding Wall is that TCU may run out of open scholarships. The Jon Lewis committ was frankly a surprise for the frogs. From all accounts, Brandon Carter will flip his commit from the Sooners to TCU, which leaves only one available scholly. Brandon Alexander is higher on the Frog wish list than Carter Wall is. But Alexander might allready be a whorn.

So we've competed with TCU for a grand total of three recruits? We may have competed with UCLA for more than that.

yeah its no big deal until you list the 15 or so players that have chosen TCU over SMU and played over the last 4 years. You keep trying to diminish the competition-it has more to do with SMU not being competitive in the past for the same players as TCU. There are some very good football players who contributed to 25-1 on that list.

Not to mention the odor of shti that got me the minute I got out of the car....
Have fun...
Opinions of the campus will vary but opinions of FW VS Dallas will almost always be for the town in the west unless you are some die-hard Dallasite who loves fake vs real. TCU has completely re-vamped their infrastructure and the new Amon Carter will put almost any stadium not built by Jerry Jones to shame. It won't be the biggest, but if you haven't seen the plans you will be amazed. Comments on the odor are just childish at best, petty more like it.
Carter will discuss this weekend with his parents and let the SMU staff know what he decides before he announces to the world. A very good kid and whoever lands him will be getting a good one.

Believe it or not, I really don't have an agenda. Just trying to understand.
This year at least we're not going after the same guys.

The truth is I have travelled between D & FW for many years before you were even born and the smell downtown FW was Baird's bakery and entering Dallas was the giant sewage treatment plant.
The bakery is gone but that treatment plant still lingers....
And that's the truth!

Certainly a little stretch, but then again maybe not if talking college. Memorial & Kyle are bigger and have huge video boards but the new Amon Carter will offer a lot more comforts for the fans and players.
You should check out the plans and then report back to me which college stadiums in Texas you think are better.

I'm just thankful I never have to hear that Amon Carter is the Camden Yards of College Football again. It was just plain ugly-never liked it

Up unitl recently SMU was neighbors with a Mrs. Baird's plant for decades, and it did nothing but waft the sweet smell of fresh baked bread over the lovely tree lined hilltop. I don't know what FW was putting in their bread.

Perhaps he is confused and meant to recall the smell of the Ranch Style Beans factory.

Still my favorite even though they moved. Much better than Bush's

I was at TCU this weekend. It smelled like shti...Sorry, thats the truth...
What do you want me to say?
Ft. worth is also a dump reminds me of current St. louis, downtown is empty and gross....
Area around TCU campus remind me of Carbondale, IL...maybe bloomington normal on a nice day....
IT is what it is...sorry old timer...
