Verbal commitments are NON-BINDING. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 2.

At least we are in the running for players of this caliber. I am not to torn up about losing this one, he'll fit in good at TCU

Are you saying he will fit in good to help TCU continue to beat SMU?

So are you wishing TCU goes 10-1?

it ain't really a rivalry unless there's some recruit-poaching.

Amazing how many frogs lurk over here. I've been to their site maybe twice. Could care less what they say.

What happened?? I thought most of you Pony fans were pulling for good old TCU! Remember, their success helps us right? TCU winning does not help SMU, this is just a small example of that correlation.

No self-respecting PonyFan pulls for TCU in anything.
Ever.
Yeah, I have friends who went there, but as a school, I want them to fail.
All the time.
Without exception.
It's like a Yankee fan saying "Gosh, I really hope the Red Sox do well this year."
It's just wrong.

I root for them to win so it strengthens our SOS, but only in years where we beat them.

TCU victory is in the long term best interests of all non-BCS schools unless you want SMU to be permanently locked into a Future Division 1AA of College Football. Since I want SMU to compete at the highest levels of College Football I'm glad the non-BCS school won. Some of you would be happy piling up 10 win seasons against Liberty and Sul Ross and going to the John Deere Tractor Bowl. I want to compete at the Top of College Football and against the BCS no matter how unlikely that appears to be right now. If you want payback some day with UT, A&M or Tech then you want recruits to think that they can compete for BCS Bowls at SMU-just like TCU, Utah, and Boise proved before. And I'll tell you another thing-if that approach is not conveyed to recruits and that they can come to SMU to compete for BCS Bowls, Top 25 rankings and beating TCU on the field and recruiting rather than on message boards then we'll be losing a lot more recruits to TCU in the future.

First smart thing some one has said on this thread.

Maybe Sherwood Blount could get this program going again? Probably not, but its worth a shot!

Also, I am sure Carter Wall is very upset he has chosen a school that wins football games, and has made their presence known on a Nat'l scale. Poor guy.....
