Re: SMU to the Pac 10?the whole thing is a thread started by a troll with 1 post. no one should have ever responded to it.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?Sorry...
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?For more rumors check out other sports board....
Rumor that we are adding Lacrosse Men's and women's D1 programs.... Big East Maybe???
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?
Agreed....I just read it and it was like a mini novel with no happy ending. 5 pages is impressive with no basis in fact and TOTAL BS. And yes ponydad knows us well...so we have one who knows who we are out there....
SMU to the Pac 10?
There are a ton of signs this could be I'm the works, like June/Orsini implying a conference change, a Big East president mentioning us as an expansion candidate, etc. With TCU going, my money is us, UofH, and UCF to the BE assuming nova stays IAA. "I think Couchem is right."

Re: SMU to the Pac 10?kind of impressed smumaniac's first thread made it five pages
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?glad my A.D.D. kicked in after the first few posts so I didn't have to read this
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?
wait...what?
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?All is moot if the blithering NCAA would institute a playoff giving every team a chance and splitting up the TV revenues based on national finish.
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?
Agreed. SMU has no reason to make lacrosse a DI program unless it involves admission to another conference. Lacrosse not only brings more scholarships that must be given to athletes, but also brings travel and coaching expenses. SMU is not elevating lacrosse for mere pleasure. Far East Conference
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?
Not only 'splitting up' but they'll be much more $$$ than anyone could realize to be split up. The pinheads today have a hard time realizing this b/c they're so interested in protecting their cartel interests. Revenue could be so much higher than the NFL's revenue on a playoff system because every friend, supporter, cousin & dog will have a team in the hunt. How many division 1 programs are there? A lot!!! Much more than NFL teams. NOW THAT'S CAPITALISM!!! You can bet the cartel members are fighting this thing b/c they'll lose a lot of five & four star athletes to the Boise's, Utah St's. & SMU's of the world. They're trying their darn-dest to make Div 1 football with no more than 60 teams or so. Such pinheads! BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?
Lacrosse is big to only a few BE schools. ND, Syracuse, Georgetown are about it. Now lacrosse is huge in the ACC as is soccer. UVa, UNC, MD, Wake, Duke (except when they have parties) are all big time lacrosse programs. Hmm - Rice and SMU to the ACC. Duke makes amends to SMU for sending us Pye by insisting that we be added to the ACC. UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?Rumors are such great fun. Keeps everyone occupied while we wait for the recruiting roundup...right PonyPride?
![]() SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: SMU to the Pac 10?
Please stop sending this discussion totally off the deep end by mentioning Rice. "I think Couchem is right."
