Yeesh they make SMU look positively better than mediocre. Last winning season was 6-5 in 1996. I respectfully disagree with your assessment of their football program.
Yea perhaps my opinions should been supported by some research. They suck more than SJSU in football.

Their claim to fame? They almost beat OU in Norman this year. But yes, they are turrrrrible.

really the school I'd like to see CUSA at least contact if CUSA needs another team is Air Force. Look at Air Force's roster and note how many Texans are on it.

We need to disinvite Rice and Tulane and add in AF and Navy. Two new time zones. Watch the TV money roll in. Back up the truck. Tell UT no thanks and please stop bugging us.

IMO C-USA should pursue two options:
A) Merger w/ MWC where the winner of each conference would play one another for an at-large BCS bid. This has been brought up numerous times here and I readily admit ignorance on the innerworkings of TV deals, scheduling, and of course the BCS going along for the ride on this idea. Its far-fetched but it would be the best case scenario for a dying MWC and CUSA.
B) Invite Boise State, Nevada, Air Force, and Navy to CUSA. Its an aggressive expansion but all four teams are legitimate programs that have been to multiple bowls over the last six or seven years. It adds legitimacy to the conference and would make CUSA the undisputed top dog among the non AQ's.
Back off Warchild seriously.

A really strong non AQ conference could consist of the following: CUSA West Boise State Nevada Air Force Houston SMU Tulsa CUSA East East Carolina Southern Miss Central Florida Memphis Navy UAB Of course the tough part is finding a way to get UTEP, Tulane, Rice, Marshall, and the MWC dregs to go along with this

That would definately give a legitimacy to the name "Conference USA"

Sorry dreamers
Statement from Mountain West Conference Board of Directors
Jan. 25, 2011
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -
At the conclusion of its annual January meeting, the MWC Board of Directors issued the following statement.
"Over the past two days, the Board of Directors has engaged in a very thorough discussion of several key topics pertinent to the future of the Mountain West Conference. This has included, but not been limited to, issues related to television, the Bowl Championship Series and membership. The Board feels strongly the membership configuration already established going forward creates outstanding prospects for future success. In addition, we are continuing with our strategic initiatives related to our television partnerships and the MWC's efforts to effect change in the BCS structure. The Board is excited about what is undoubtedly a bright future for the Conference."

What was the attendance at Ford Stadium the last time Boise played at SMU? If I recall it was under 15,000 and they were undefeated at the time. No to Boise. AFA, yes. Navy, yes. Don't jettison Rice, Tulane and UTEP, they would have some appeal to AFA and Navy due to Tulane and Rice's academics and UTEP's proximity to Colorado Springs. That would give us 14 teams. AFA and Navy have an auto cross over game. Tulane-USM. UH- Memphis. Rice -ECU, Tulsa-Marshall, SMU-UAB, UTEP-UCF for other crossover games. Done. Otherwise, leave CUSA alone. We need to let this conference stabilize into a good conference. Right now we are by default the strongest non-auto bid conference in the Country. Our worst are better than any other conference's worst. Our best may not be as good as other conferences' best. But top to bottom we're stronger.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
