Recruits at Tech game

Postby Buddha » Thu Aug 19, 2004 11:01 am

Anyone hear how many players are expected at the Tech game? I would think that a good showing - even if we fall short - would be a great impression on recruits, and might land a few commitments, if we show that we can now play with the big boys.

The only negative I can think of would be if our numbers are paled by those clad in red & black.

For the first game of the year, I expect we'll be OK. There will be a lot of Tech fans, but we should have a good showing, too. The excitement around the young players and Coach Burns's offense should bring the fans out.

I'm just glad that this year it won't be OSU...that sea of orange and sea of Okie St. points isn't something I'd like to subject recruits to...

Tech brought substantially more fans than OSU and will again this year. If SMU bring 17,000 it is a sellout.

I know it is a bummer when our opponents have more fans in the stadium than we do, but all the same a full stadium makes for a great college football atmosphere. Hopefully some day soon we will have to close off the south end zone area with more seats. Mean while, I'm looking forward to attending the SMU-Tech game. It will be fun regardless of the outcome (although an SMU win would be above and beyond the simple meaning of fun).

TWO WEEKS and counting.

GO MUSTANGS!!!

Amen, PK! I'm looking forward to the Tech game - and all the games. And I'm not sure Tech is unbeatable. It will take a great effort, to be sure, and probably a little luck, but it's not entirely impossible.

The only info I could get on how many recruits will be there was "a bunch."
