Someone is About to Get Fired"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Someone is About to Get FiredWtf ? Damn..
Re: Someone is About to Get Firedpretty hard to defend yourself when 13 people end up in the hospital. wow. 1 or 2, probably could have said it was bad luck.
Re: Someone is About to Get FiredAnd Leach was fired for putting a player in the closet? And Patterson was panned for talking about putting concussed players in a game?
Re: Someone is About to Get FiredThose steroids that Jack Lalanne sold them were expired
"smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Someone is About to Get FiredI foresee a strength and conditioning coach being thrown under a bus by a head coach at Iowa.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Someone is About to Get FiredWhy is everyone acting surprised? This has been going on for years! The NCCA and college institutions exploit their athletes and have been for years. Once a stydent-athlete signs the letter-of-intent his or her rights are severely diminished. The big revenue programs should pay their players(legally, not under the table). Do the workouts and push yourself in 110 degree summer workouts and off-season winter workouts or you are a sissy. Don't do the workouts and you can lose your scholarship( remember, the scholarship is for one year). Sure, if you are a very good player then the three-strike policy doesn't apply that some coaches use. Missed classes, poor effort, thievery, cheating...all ok as long as you can help your team win! The workouts and pushing to extremes go on at all levels and are starting to show up in pewee football. Somebody has to step forward. I guess with the number of players involved at Iowa it may achieve class-action lawsuit status.
Re: Someone is About to Get Fired
It's not his fault if the players are [deleted]. He's just trying to make them stronger for next season which is his job. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Someone is About to Get Fired
but it's his fault if the players were all on the same regimens of jack'd up, creatine, and some other energy booster and not hydrated enough. Last edited by RGV Pony on Thu Jan 27, 2011 1:33 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Someone is About to Get FiredI think we need to learn WHY they were in the hospital before we can really comment. Dehydration? Injuries? Frostbite?

Re: Someone is About to Get Firede-How gives a good breakdown for this kind of forum:
Rhabdomyolysis is the name given to the breakdown of muscle fibers, which results in the release of myoglobin into the bloodstream that can be harmful to organ systems. Prolonged, strenuous exercise is a leading cause of rhabdomyolysis. Significance While rhabdomyolysis is not a normal risk associated with exercise, it can be brought on by severe exertion, such as marathon running or unusual amounts of high-impact calisthenics. Explanation When exercise continues long enough for the body to become depleted of oxygen and fat needed to continue producing energy, the body may begin to break down muscle fibers to use in place of fat. This causes the release of the protein myoglobin, which, when further broken down, contains compounds that can harm the body. Re: Someone is About to Get Fired
The article specifically says this didn't happen Edit: It was referring to kidney failure (as a result of rhabdomyolysis) that didn't happen, nevermind. "I think Couchem is right."
