He has to pay his own way right now, he is not on scholarship until he is eligible. His problem was that he went to a non-accredited private school in Miami until his senior year and then Pinkston High School, in an effort to make him eligible, gave him nine tests in order to move him from a freshman to a senior. He has really done nothing wrong and seems to be an ok guy.
LOL, he's never gone to class anywhere. One rc I know, not affiliated w/SMU in any way, said he had the worst transcript of any kid he's ever seen. He was untouchable etc. None of his Miami classes were NCAA accredited, and the transcripts were doctored. See 10.1
Beyond that, I've met the kid and he's quite nice. To say he's done nothing wrong is a fallacy. He basically didn't attend school for the last 4 years and it's no industry secret. Again, I'd like to see him succeed and really have nothing against UNT, but Mitchell is a real stretch academically. Beyond that, better be prepared to itemize every dollar he spends over the next year, cause the NCAA is going to be pretty wary of who is picking up his tuition and tab.
