Ask Mitch McConnell. He learned on the radio a few weeks back that if SMU had beaten Houston, it would have been the first time we were over .500 in conference play in ____ years.

I must admit I was in the 0 wins in conference camp. Glad to know I was wrong. I like the way the offense is coming together.

Question:

Does the improved personnel next year fit this same offensive scheme, or will we have to change again?

good road win against what I would call a respectable Rice Owl team. They do have wins this year against TCU and LSU...oh, and they also beat Arkansas-Little Rock. Sure wish we could have some "do overs" right about now. These guys are playing well.

We will be able to run the same offense, more or less. I'd expect fewer feeds into the middle, though.

That is big key, the team came together when conference play started and got infinitely better. Early on in non conference play, you could tell SMU was still struggling with the offense and the defense, but we have gotten better, MUCH BETTER. Nice coaching and some damn fine young men with a lot of pride!

We have 10 more games, minimum. IF we win half of them, that is 18 wins for the season. Does that get us dancing?

Not even close, our RPI is dreadful because of some of those early losses to cruddy teams when we were still learning.

Probably the only way to get to the CBI is to make Huge Noise in the conference...threaten for the title, go to to C-USA tourney final, etc......

13-8 and 4-3 in conference play. Big to have a winning road streak going on. This team seems to really play well as a team. The number of assist shows that this is a team looking for the best shot and not stats.

I hope the attendance at hoe games mirrors the success of this team.

This team is a good reminder to have patience with younger players especially Dia and Nykundi who started to excel in their respective Junior years. Might need some patience next year too

Have you noticed how much better they have gotten since we attended the Houston game? I think they got the message we were serious about wanting improvement.

You did look pretty intimidating that game with your "Mustang Bob Hope" helmet on.

Think about Nyakundi this year. Many of the losses to those "dog" teams early in the year was because Nyk couldn't throw it in the ocean, he was missing so many open shots.

But Doh, let him shoot his way out of it, and now that conference play has rolled around, we are really benefitting from that.
