I'm happy to donate that all-access money to the MC
Re: Channelsurfing.net seized by US Govt"smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Channelsurfing.net seized by US GovtSince they don't broadcast SMU football in South America my only choice was channelsurfing etc. Tried all-access and not only was it very poor quality but I had major issues with the subscription people.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: Channelsurfing.net seized by US Govt
read the deadspin link..they might or might not give a new website. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Channelsurfing.net seized by US GovtI think it's just an evolutionary step. As with Napster before it, Channesurfing.net quantified a market that the current business models didn't anticipate, or at the very least, didn't feel was worth exploring/exploiting.
Determining the demand was the first step, and Channelsurfing.net started that process. It was wildly popular, not only because you could get broadcast TV for free, but because of the fact that you could get anything you wanted. We have a supply, we have a demand, and there will be a service developed that will exploit that, with compensation going to those who create the programming. Compare iTunes with Napster. iTunes provides a much higher quality product, but for a price. The market seems to be bearing out that a dollar a song is the right price ( a good being worth what a person is willing to pay for and all that). It is my sincere hope that Channelsurfing.net has opened the door to a low cost/ low price pay per view service that will allow us to watch damn near anything. The change here is the use of our broadband infrastructure to push content. Remember how crazy phone bills were before VoIP? Sucks that it's gone, but content providers need to get paid, otherwise content dries up. -CoS
Re: Channelsurfing.net seized by US GovtHarry- thanks for the headsup.

Re: Channelsurfing.net seized by US Govt
I couldn't agree more. Just like the record companies, the broadcasting companies need to evolve their product with the technology available. Otherwise, their products will be highly subject to "theft" Pay Lashlee more money
Re: Channelsurfing.net seized by US GovtAmen, they need to confirm to make this work. No reason why you couldn't have any online feed like ESPN 3.
