Postby Dutch » Wed Feb 02, 2011 2:43 pm

Let's call him by his name. Davon. Not Devon

As a guy who always has his name butchered, I always find it amusing when others get their panties all twisted on the subject.

I don't think we can truly how appreciate how big this is. When you find a way to overcome offers from just about the entire Pac 10 and last-minute charge by Oregon State, that speaks to the kind of relationship the school had with Moreland.

Again, I hope everything academically is good.

Sounded like everybody the coaching staff reeled in everybody it wanted.

Congratulations to them.

How do you know that is correct. On his highschool web site the football roster has his name as Devon. Although I have seen it both ways, most of the stories on him list his name as Devon.

also from his HS web site

"UCLA vs Oregon St. Football is finally here! Bruin fans with student tickets please see Ms. Barranco at lunch for your ticket, information and meeting time. 100 Salesian Mustangs will be in attendance cheering the Bruins to a victory against the Beavers. Salesian Alumni Joshua Williams is a grey shirt for the Oregon team this season and Senior Devon Moreland will be on the Rosebowl field as a Bruin recruit. GO BRUINS!"

Well the official SMU Signing Day Packet has him listed as Davon...so there ya go. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I share the same concern with Stephon Sanders who is continually written as Stephen. He has 15 D1 offers. We should get to know his name. And yes, it does make a difference to some people.

No it is not!! It is M Rydel. But then again, I was only recruited by 3 D1 schools so I guess you are ok. :D
