Caldwell Flores???Who is this guy? Looks like he was commit #28.
Re: Caldwell Flores???weird. hadn't heard anything about him at all. from St. Johns in Houston
junior highlight video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJ3R2D55U4E
Re: Caldwell Flores???per webby in an earlier thread, he's going to be a preferred walkon at WR. Stallion thinks he could get moved around to an h-back type role since he's a bigger boy that can block and hit

Long live the Circle of Champions!
Re: Caldwell Flores???says 6'2" 190 on his highlight reel
Re: Caldwell Flores???Who knows? I'm speculating based on running style in his Junior year video and his high school position of primarily RB/DE:
I've got a sneaky feeling that Jones might make him a blocking back/TE hybrid-he does hit and can run a little for a big guy. Note some highlighted blocks in there. Listed on St John's website as 6-2, 195. I don't really see him as a smooth runner, shiftiness or foot quickness to be a WR-more of a North/South type-note his video doesn't show many cutting moves-he may run East/West but he is trying to outrun somebody not cut upfield-but who knows. I could see him at OLB before WR. Also, SMU could need a backup RB too if those freshman RBs Fields and Pope are moved as reported "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Caldwell Flores???
Where have Fields and Pope reportedly been moved to?
Re: Caldwell Flores???Got to think JJ has some ideas where he can be used. One wonders if this was a good enough class for JJ to take a chance on a kid that could be used in multiple positions and takes the time to let him develop into a particular position.
Stallion points out some multiple position options for him to play. I havn't seen the kid but with his height and lack of bulk at this point, he may have he potential to grew into a big man.
Re: Caldwell Flores???I dont think 6-2 190 is particularly big. Hhe is a preferred walk-on - right? Cant imagine him playing reciever for us.
Re: Caldwell Flores???yeah he is a preferred walk on
Re: Caldwell Flores???Jones has mentioned he was considering moving Pope and Fields-probably to LB positions. I haven't heard if that decision had definitely been made yet. Pope especially was a pretty highly regarded LB at his level in high school.

Re: Caldwell Flores???Would love to see Pope put on some serious weight and move to dline...like Melton from UT, now a bear...
Re: Caldwell Flores???Lax guys would like to have Flores with them in the spring.
Pay Lashlee more money
Re: Caldwell Flores???I am no longer a member of scout. But it appears from the story headline he is on scholarship.
Yep. He is not a walk-on http://rivals.yahoo.com/smu/football/re ... res-122785
Re: Caldwell Flores???coaches said tonight he is a walk-on
Re: Caldwell Flores???found senior highlights and a short TD clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWmDP21IbAs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBwzVUuv ... re=related apparently last June he verbally committed to Yale- explains why no one has heard of him before now. and SMULaxer, has JJ ever let players offseason in the past?
