Ticket sales for Tech game?

Postby PonySnob » Wed Sep 01, 2004 1:09 pm

Any idea as to how ticket sales are going for the game on Saturday? Hopefully, we will actually get 28-30K in attendance - otherwise it will be tough to have an average of 15K for the year.

Latest Count?

Postby Mr. Football » Wed Sep 01, 2004 1:37 pm

I'd like to know what the latest count was. As of Monday, they were selling at a rate of 900/day with over 26,000 sold on pace for a sellout.

What's the latest?

I long for the days every game is a sell out. In reference to Pony Snob's comment about averaging 15k a game, I believe Copeland feels we must schedule Big 12 teams to reach that level with our non-regional conference games. Hopefully, in the next few years, we can schedule easier opponents for non-conference games because we will have more regional games for conference opponents (i.e., Houston, Tulane, etc.) which will bring more fans than say a San Jose St. or Hawaii. If SMU can ever win a few games in Sept. then we should see an increase in attendance but until then we will be forced to count everyone that walks through the gate.

Interesting. Who did you speak with? I called the ticket office on Monday(after calling the SID who didn't have any figures) and they said that school policy dictated that they weren't allowed to release ticket sales numbers. Where did you get this information?

Tech is recruiting Carderra Hunter and James Pierce from Longview, and they're both supposed to be at the game. Any thoughts on these guys?

Still looking like a sure Sellout. That's good, football is more fun in a full stadium.

Well they be great additions if Tech gets them. I know that Gordon and Carlin Freeman are going. Hardy Elkins wants to come to SMU and could easily get there. Coaches know about him thank god. Expect atleast 30 people from Longview to be at the game

I called the SID office on Monday and they said that info had to come from the ticket office. Guess I got ahold of a 'left-hand, right-hand F.U. situation". Thanks for getting the info, WorldStang.

I got my 8 tickets today and am ready to see the Mustangs kick some Red Raider butt!
