Kouandjio rethinks decision

Cyrus Kouandjio sat behind a microphone, on national television, and the five-star offensive tackle from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha said that he was going to sign with Auburn instead of Alabama, New Mexico and others.

That decision has been put on hold though because Kouandjio never faxed his letter of intent to the Tigers. In an apparent instant change of heart, the 6-foot-7, 322-pound standout now says he needs more time to make a decision.

His brother, Arie, plays at Alabama and many believed he would follow his brother to Tuscaloosa. Kouandjio's commitment to Auburn came as a surprise but it might not stick. There are more considerations to be made before anything is faxed.

"I'm getting phone calls from Auburn saying he never faxed anything back, so I'm on the phone asking him, 'Well, why didn't you fax anything?'" DeMatha coach Bill McGregor said. "All I know is he is not 100 percent sure of his decision and he wants more time."

no matter how you slice it, being in the top 10 is good.

Indeed. But Auburn is not #3, they are #7, which is below LSU at #6. :D I'm happy to laugh at those Auburn fans who were caring about that "technical" ranking!

It looks like Floyd Raven did end up going back to aggy.

He says the situation with his mom was just an honest mistake.

On the upside, he's faxed in a LOI to the Transportation and Safety Commission. He's projected to be the top Airport Screener in this years class.

And I saw the top Lemmings top running back kept changing props at signing. First a ND jersey, then a UNC hat, then he took both off and put on a Rutgers jersey and hat and signed with Rutgers. That kind of stuff, usually gets you an extra tough greeting at the first practice.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

the "New Cool Thing" is for the Top Player to remain undecided after signing date simply to draw attention and media spotlight. Very low class.

A Couple of Strange Commitment Stories

Do parents have to sign as well? I guess that makes sense now that I think about it since a high percentage of these kids are under 18 and therefore unable to enter into a binding contract. Is that the correct reasoning?

The whole signing day process has gotten out of hand, thanks to ESPN and a few others. Every recruit wants to put on a show and they try to look cool on tv with the switching hats, jerseys or whatever. Frankly, I think they end up looking like a complete jack@$$!
