transferring![]()
Richuel, I hear, is a really smart kid. And if he is, he won't go anywhere. Would he be starting if he'd gone elsewhere? Maybe, maybe not. But if he were to transfer (to a D-I school), he'll be at the bottom of the totem pole all over again, and would have to sit out (per NCAA rules), etc. He'd have to work his way up, whereas at SMU, he's one of a few players who's waiting in the wings to take a crack at the starting job. Be a team player this year, work as hard as you can, and go out and take the RB job during the spring and during 2-a-days next August.
And in the meantime, BEAT TECH!
I agree it would be seriously stupid for Massey to transfer. I think we would lose a great player and he would lose any possibility to get looks from pros. No one wins in that situation. He should start at RB next year if he stays (opinion...not common knowledge).
We must shake the \"snob\" reputation. Bring Dallas back to SMU.
He's had quite a year, personally, and I doubt there's any place that would offer the support structure of teammates and coaches who really care about him as a person (rather than just a guy on the roster) like they do at SMU. OK, he's not thrilled about being listed at FB. Read the PonyFans.com preview - Coach Burns himself said Massey's going to get some carries, as is Dorsey and maybe more. The fact is that Munlin is a senior, and really separated himself from the crowd during the spring. That doesn't mean one of the younger guys can't get it done. There's going to be a lot of competition at all schools, and he Massey still has a chance to be extremely productive here. There's no reason to transfer.
Tail back is his label.
bottom line is, if he isn't the best guy out there, then we have someone better. that's good news.
While I hope and pray that he stays at SMU because we need him and his talent/abilities are recognized here, I'll be more than happy to make a call to a Div. 1-AA school in Huntsville on his behalf.
